Frequently asked questions

Should I get pre-approved before looking at homes?

Yes. Getting pre-approved helps you understand your budget and shows sellers you are a serious buyer. In a competitive market like Wisconsin, having a pre-approval letter can make your offer stronger and help you move quickly when you find the right home.

How much money do I need to buy a home in Wisconsin?

The amount varies depending on the loan program, but many buyers put down between 3% and 20%. You will also need to plan for closing costs, inspections, and other small expenses. A lender can help determine exactly what you qualify for.

Do I need a real estate agent to buy a home?

While it is possible to buy a home without an agent, having a licensed real estate agent helps you navigate the process, write strong offers, negotiate terms, and avoid costly mistakes. A buyer’s agent represents your interests throughout the transaction.

How long does it take to buy a house?

Most home purchases take around 30–45 days after an accepted offer. The timeline includes inspections, appraisal, financing approval, and final closing. The overall process can move faster or slower depending on the situation.

What does a real estate agent do for sellers?

A real estate agent helps price your home correctly, market it to the right buyers, schedule showings, negotiate offers, and manage the entire closing process. The goal is to attract qualified buyers and get the best possible terms for your sale.

We absolutely loved working with Blaine!

We absolutely loved working with Blaine! He was so patient with us and worked hard to find us a home that we loved! He was always punctual when meeting us to show us homes, and was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we saw every single home we wanted to see. We had him jumping through hoops making phone calls to the city and other places, and was always so gracious and willing to help. We definitely recommend him and will absolutely use him again in the future. We absolutely loved working with Blaine! He was so patient with us and worked hard to find us a home...
